Mommy Has No Photo Skilz!

We had a lovely early fall weekend full of tailgating, friends and my thirty something-ish birthday. Saturday night Jeff and I went to Aixois for dinner. GREAT dinner, horrible service...but we got to sit outside so all in all it was a great night.

For my birthday, I got to spend the day at Tyler Wirken's studio at a one day photo workshop. We have this "fancy" camera and I need to learn how to use it. Well after a day of understanding the theory behind it all (Thank You Tyler), I thought I'd practice....as you can see in some of the pics below I still have a lot to learn. But it was fun KIND of knowing what I was doing! Do keep in mind that I was taking photos when the sun was setting, chasing a child around...I probably should start with a stationary object in good light. Oh well!

I cheated and turned it black and white because I messed up the light. But a cute pic.

Do you like the giant bug bite on my head?

I am in LOVE with this picture, but I jacked up the lighting of course so I turned it black and white....its still jacked.

  1. Impressive! I truly think they are good. Now, if Ellen would only stay awake past 6:20pm, maybe we could practice, too!
